In the Seiko 5 Sports range there is a new watch case shape, a nice classic small case with a large crown at 3. It is a little bit bulkier than the small 38mm Seiko5’s, which is mainly because the quality has improved: the case is heavier, the glass is thicker and domed, the case back looks nicer. Also the movement has the 4R36 in it.

This SRPJ89 has a military kind of dial (looks a lot like the discontinued SNK805), it has a very nice shade of green, sunburst -almost British green-. The polished watch case, sunburst green dial and leather strap make this watch look more like a dress watch than a sports watch 🙂 (my advice: put a 16mm butterfly-clasp on it). For a more sporty look, wear it on an 18mm nato-strap), the lugs are drilled-through, so changing the strap is easy!

The installed glass is single domed hardlex. It has a rather high dome and will give some distortion when you look at the dial from an angle. A good option is to have sapphire installed (add the sapphire to the order, and use the option “install ORDERED sapphire”)!
