Description

This sapphire is made especially for the SNXS73, -75, -77, -79 en SNXS80 (case code 7S26-0480).

For a small Seiko5 this is rather thick sapphire: 1.8mm. It has a large beveled edge, this is needed because this glass is lying on a soft glass gasket, and is pressed on this gasket by the bezel. So the bezel presses on the beveled edge. To remove the bezel, there is a small indentation on the bottom side of the bezel, at the 12 and sometimes also at the 6. To remove the bezel, you can place a sharp case knife and wiggle it at that position, and pry off the bezel with care.

Seiko used this way of putting in glass a lot, so do not be surpries about the number of (older) models you can use this sapphire in! I made a list of case codes, you can find the case code on the case back of your watch. (movement – case identifier : xxxx-xxxx):

The sapphire is made with a anti-reflection coating on the inside, in modest blue or clear.

Now also available in double domed with PURPLE AR-coating!

You can order this sapphire and replace your glass (or have it replaced), or add it to a watch order you make on this website (choose “Install the ordered sapphire, and add the sapphire you want to have placed to the order).

There are two available shapes:

  1. Flat with the large facet, like the original glass
  2. Double domed with large facet, domed on the inside and on the outside, so almost no distortion of the view to the dial.

Sizes:

  1. Flat: 31 x 1,8 mm
  2. Double domed: 31 x 1,8 x 2,8mm (the dome is 2,8 mm in the middle, so it is 1mm higher in the middle than at the edges).
