Description
This bracelet is produced by Miltat, it is also for sale on www.strapcode.com and taikonaut-time.com. It is called Hexad there. |
The Hexad Oyster looks a lot like the Engineer-2, but it has three rows like an oyster and it tapers from 22mm at the lugs to 18mm at the clasp. It is also over 4.5mm thick, but due to the tapering to 18mm it is a little bit less heavy than the Engineer-2 (110 gram with the standard 3-holes clasp). The bracelet is all solid, the solid end-pieces fit snug between the lugs of the watch. The thick push pins with shoulders are included, you need to use these since the (shoulderless) Seiko push pins will result in much more effort to fit the bracelet, and without the “shoulders”, removing the push pins is hard. The links are screwed together with small screws, I advise to use loc tite (or something similar) on the thread to keep the screws from turning loose. A small screwdriver is needed, like this one. The sides of this bracelet are polished, the upper side is brushed. It is 18mm wide at the clasp, I have a few options to use as clasp.
It is possible to put this bracelet on the new SRPD-Sports, if you want to use it for this model, let me know in the order-remarks. The “solution” from Miltat is to add a set of bent push pins. As a Seiko dealer, I CANNOT sell you the SRPD-Sports with such a construction, I hope Miltat will make proper end pieces for the SRPD-Sports. But YOU CAN put the bracelet on the SRPD-Sports. The fit is not 100% perfect, but it fits. If you intent to use it on the Seiko Sports 42mm, let me know, I will add a couple of steel tubes. With these tubes, you can fit this bracelet with the Seiko push pins.
Install tip: First remove the push pins and press the end piece through the lugs a few times.. This removes some possible left over steel from drilling the holes in the lugs. |
